Hump Day!

Original Post Date: 2/17/10

Scripture:
Nehemiah 4:6 So we built the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

Well, its Wednesday. We've made it over the mid point and now many of us are working for the weekend:) As you look forward to your weekend, be sure to PLAN. Weekend's can be more difficult than the weekdays on your eating because you have less structure and more opportunities to make poor choices. Nehemiah made plans and provisions before undertaking the role of rebuilding the wall. He had to ask the King for wood, workers, time and money so that when he got started on his goal (rebuilding the wall) he could take the work to completion.

Don't undo all the hard work you are doing all week by failing to plan for the weekend. Plan ahead. Start thinking now. What am I going to do on Saturday? Sunday? By now, you should have a little cooler or lunch tote. Start thinking on what you can take with you, that you will enjoy and stay on plan. I know its only Wednesday - but if you don't PLAN now, Thursday will slide by and Friday is the WORST planning day of the week. We are usually in 'off' mode by Friday. We want to just let go of responsibility and cares that we carry all week long.

Friday's also often bring us to the point of 'reward'. We want to 'reward' ourselves for doing so good all week - and well we should. But we need to start planning now for what that reward should be. Food is not intended to be a 'reward'. Food is 'fuel'. Start thinking of how you could 'reward' yourself without food. Could it be a brisk walk in the park with a friend? A pretty new top? A great book or movie? Rewards do not have to be and should not be EDIBLE.

So today, is officially PLAN day. Remember, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
